World’s smallest land-based casinos

When we’re thinking about modern land-based casinos, we mostly tend to imagine large casino-resorts featuring a multi-story hotel, conference room, spa, concert hall and, of course, a luxurious casino that probably occupies more than one floor. Actually, it’s a fair stereotype: big casinos that can offer lots of other services attract lots of clients with their scale, luxury, choice of games and service. However, the income of such casino mega-resorts is also quite impressive – some of the world’s largest gambling venues may generate up to 5-6 billion dollars a year, which is undeniably a great sum of money.

Nevertheless, today we’re not going to talk about the greatest, the mightiest, the most lavishly decorated and the most profitable land-based casinos. Instead, we’re going to focus on some of the world’s smallest casinos that are not so popular and yet can still be very interesting for everyone who loves slots, table games, poker and roulette regardless of the room size. So here we go – the list of the world’s smallest casinos you you can visit!

Santa Ysabel

Santa-Ysabel

This bedroom-size casino called Santa Ysabel opened its doors for the first time in 2007. It is located in North County, San Diego and features only 30 slot machines. Interestingly, the territory of this casino is only 600 square feet, which is just the size of a single large hall or several bedrooms. Just imagine that Santa Ysabel is 30 times smaller than the smallest casino in Vegas, and 1,000 times smaller than the great Venetian Macao.

Regretfully, this tiny cute gambling space had to shut down in 2014, after 8 years of operation. Even though the casino used to have good reviews, it couldn’t compete with several other larger Indian casinos that operate in the same region.

Grosvenor Taxi Casino

Grosvenor-Taxi-Casino

It would be easier to imagine a taxi styled casino than a casino stuck inside a simple London cab. However, this time we’re going to talk about a real licensed casino that is actually located inside a cab. Most likely, it’s the smallest casino on our list!

The casino is located inside of the common London taxi, which is also known as Hackney carriage. If you have been to London, you probably know that those cars are not the biggest taxis worldwide. However, on the back seat of Grosvenor Taxi Casino you will find a real blackjack table and a dealer. The casino also features a small bar full of ice-cold beer and a monitor where you can watch any of your favorite sports events.

Casino Palms, Goa

Casino-Palms, Goa

Goa is a popular resort in India visited by millions of tourists every year. No wonder why you can find a casino in Goa. However, don’t expect it to be that big! Casino Palms is a small two-story building located on the Baga beach area of the island, which features a single gaming hall with a couple of games.

Deltin Royale

Deltin-Royale

We’ve already visited the smallest casino, located on the back seat of a cab, and now we’re going to visit a casino that is located on a cruise ship. Of course, it won’t be able to beat Grosvenor Taxi Casino in our rank of smallest casino venues; but it’s still very small, and so it definitely has to enter our list. Deltin Royale is located on the board of a cruise ship that swims to the international waters from the bay of Goa. The casinos start working when the ship enters the international waters. Deltin Royale is small, but it also can offer a good choice of card games including American Roulette, Indian Flush, Baccarat, Blackjack, Three-Card Draw Poker, Five-Card Poker, Mini-Flush and Casino War. Also, the gaming hall features several slots and a Money Wheel.

North Cadbury Court

North-Cadbury-Court

If you want to visit this small British casino, you’ll need to go straight to North Cadbury in Somerset, England. The most peculiar thing about this gambling venue is that it’s located in the basement. Initially, North Cadbury Court was working as a location for celebrations and corporate events, but once they decided to make a small casino in their basement. North Cadbury Court Casino is known to be a place where it is hard to get – the gaming hall can host only 30 players and if you want to be the 31st to enter, you’ll have to wait until one of the players leaves the hall.
