In 1997, the rising poker star gained his first wins in the game — he triumphed twice at the World Poker Finals. Moreover, he was honored to hold the title of the best all-around player at the competition. Later in 1998, “Kid Poker” succeeded at the World Series of Poker, winning $2,000 Pot Limit Hold’Em. Thus, he was titled the youngest bracelet winner until 2004. In 1999, there was another great win for Negreanu — he gained a victory at the United States Poker Championship, earning $210,000. He was named “Favorite Poker Player” at Card Player Magazine’s Player of the Year Awards Gala in 2006.
In 2004, he won a gold bracelet at WSOP and the Borgata Poker Open, cashing $1,117,400. Kid Poker also succeeded in the Five Diamond World Poker Classic, winning $1,770,218. But his true heyday was in 2013 when the prodigy won two WSOP bracelets. Aside from traditional poker rooms, Negreanu projected his poker skill onto online gambling, signing with the renowned company PokerStars in 2007 and demonstrating his art of winning in the virtual gaming setting as well.
