This outlaw treads a hard path: fighting with the government, battling other thugs and trying hard to survive in the tough world of the Wild West. For instance, a great deal of attention is paid to the gambling traditions of the South. Yet another reason to get your PS4 and start playing!

Each player has an opportunity to find places for any kind of gambling using the vast map of the game; Blackjack RDR 2 is no exception. Blackjack players are likely to find this game in many locations; and they’re sure to have a thrilling time at the table, no matter where they found it! So here are some tips on how to get the best out of blackjack Read Dead Redemption 2.

Locations

Gambling game RhodessaloonAlmost all the card games in RDR 2 can be found with the help of the open map. The majority of them will be located in the town saloons.

The Rhodes Saloon is located in the south of the town. You just need to enter the building and go upstairs, where three gentlemen will be waiting for you to play blackjack. And if you ever get to Blackwater, the saloon will be in the city center there; the same goes for the Van Horn Trading Post! But the other, easier way to find the blackjack games in RDR 2 is to go to the camp. Usually, these serve as gambling houses for the majority of the old times games to be found in Red Dead Redemption 2; so you can play everything from Poker to Five Finger Fillet there!

Rules

Knowing the basics of the game can really be a great help for you, as to try to win and to lower the house edge. In this regard, RDR 2 blackjack isn’t really any different from real life blackjack!

First of all, the overall goal is to beat the dealer by getting a total card value of 21 and without going “bust,” which means you exceed the noted number. Before your two cards are dealt, you will get a chance to place your bet. Once the cards are dealt, the dealer puts one of his cards face up; and insurance is offered to the player, if they want. This is called a side bet, which pays 2:1 when the dealer’s hole card (the face down one) is evaluated as 10 points. This kind of wager is purely optional; and sometimes, it may not even come close to the half of the original wager!

If the dealer’s card total is up to 16 or less, then he can opt to draw another card. In RDR 2 blackjack, the dealer stands on soft 17s. The players also have a chance to either hit or stand once they get their cards, and there is no option for surrendering during this game. And as with any blackjack game that is played for real money, you can opt to split the hand if you have a pair or two cards adding up to 10. In this case, the original wager will be doubled. By contrast with online casinos, there is only one chance to split, but not 4, as in this video game.

Strategies to Follow

Be aware that you’re actually wagering the money gained during the game, and this is why you need to have some idea about the most effective strategies you can cause for this online blackjack game. The crucial steps you need to learn are the following:

You can also double the initial bet when you have a strong hand coming (i.e., whenever you don’t have an ace in your two cards). When you have 10 or 11, then you can double bet anything you want. A double wager may also be placed when you see the dealer might be about to go bust.

When you have 17 or higher, it is better to stand. The same is true of 13, 14, 15 and 16, whenever the dealer has from 2 to 6. Always hit on soft 17 and stand on soft 19 or higher.

Try to avoid buying insurance, as the odds of getting a profit are pretty low. This is usually offered when the dealer is showing an ace, in which case you can halve your initial bet. If the dealer gets a blackjack, the player receives 2:1 payout. If the player wins the hand and the dealer doesn’t have a blackjack, then the payout is 1:1 and the initial bet is lost. If no one wins or has a blackjack, then both bets are lost. Such odds really do make insurance one of the unfairest tools out there!

Sometimes some slightly erratic strategies, like splitting 6s vs. 7s, may be profitable. What a punter can do is to double the bet after the split; or if, for instance, if he gets a 4 one of the hands, there is a possibility for him to double on that hand again. If you’re smart enough, you can easily play on the winning money only, withdrawing the amount of the original bet from the following one. Suppose, you bet 4 cents and win it. You get 8 cents now and you double on that. If you win again, you’ll get 16 cents. Take away 4 cents and bet on 12 left. This is the same way you would play if you were doing it for real money – always try to save some for the future!

What Is Wrong with That?

Do you like to play blackjack for real money online? Well… Here’s where things get a little bit different. Before you get your cards, you have to wait before the other characters get them! Because there is simply no option skipping this stage. This is a quite weird situation when you have to watch some virtual swindlers decide on their cards. Nevertheless, when you sit at the table you feel like you’re actually beating the live dealer! However, you can get bored pretty quickly if you just keep waiting for some cowpoke to make his decision.

One of the biggest pluses of the game is that you can play card quests remotely. Even though this works sluggishly for other actions, for blackjack it will work just fine. Put your PS4 on the remote control and try your luck!

Red Dead Redemption 2 has made an extraordinary effort to restore the history of blackjack; so now you can play it like a real pro from the time of the Old West!
