We bet that the idea of moving to Las Vegas, a place of endless fun and entertainment, has popped into your mind at least once in your life. Quite often in search engines, you can see the query, “What celebrity was born in Las Vegas?” Indeed, quite a few A-list celebrities and social media influencers were born or took fancy to this amazing location.

Bobby Baldwin

Professional Gambler Bobby BaldwinBobby Baldwin got his reputation becoming the youngest champion of the World Series of Poker Main Event. He is one of the most famous poker pros and a casino executive. Although he was born in Oklahoma, he later settled in Las Vegas.

He won the two first bracelets in the World Series of Poker in 1977. His first win was at $10,000 Deuce to Seven Draw event; this success was followed by his next immediate win of $5,000 at a Seven Card Stud event.

His biggest win goes back to 1987, when he earned the $210,000 first place award and the title. In a fair fight, he beat such legends of professional poker as Buck Buchanan, Louis Hunsucker, Ken Smith and Jesse Alto. Also, in face-to-face play, he swept the board in a tournament against businessman Crandall Addington.

And finally, in 2003, Baldwin’s star shone when he was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame.

Since 1982, he has built a career and reputation as a casino executive. He began his journey as a consultant for the Golden Nugget Casino and was appointed the president only a couple of years later. The same story happened when he was selected to head The Mirage in 1987 and, a decade later, was appointed the president of the Bellagio Hotel & Casino.

After that, he climbed still higher in his career, becoming CEO and President of the announced Project City Center in 2018.

Thanks to many hours of training in his family home in Las Vegas, Andre became an absolutely bona fide success.

Sam Boyd

Sam is a high-flyer developer and casino manager. He forever entered the history of gambling, introducing effective marketing, gambling and entertainment innovations thereby making an invaluable contribution to the development of this industry.

He built one of the biggest and most winning casino empires on the face of this earth.

His incredible takeoff began in 1928 when he started to play bingo games on a special gambling ship in California. In 1941 he decided to settle in Las Vegas with only $30 in his pocket. Soon, he began to bid his way into the gambling sphere in the capacity of the croupier.

He went through difficult stages, changed many jobs just to save a significant amount of cash. He needed it to become a partner at the Sahara Hotel and Casino in 1952. In this business, he invested $10,000.

His career grew rapidly when he got the position of general manager and partner at The Mint in Downtown Las Vegas, where he began sharing his marketing campaigns, strategies and the incredible innovations that, in the future, would make him famous worldwide!

Over the years, Boyd’s empire grew, purchasing and developing casinos throughout Las Vegas. He continued to introduce brand new innovative marketing, and he’s highly credited for building a broad Hawaiian community of visitors. And, finally, Sam Boyd, built one of the largest gambling and casino management corporations in the world – Boyd Gaming!

Dan Reynolds

Las Vegas Dan ReynoldsFans of this remarkable artist are undoubtedly aware that he is a native of Las Vegas. Such an extraordinary place is very conducive for the shaping of a star of this scale! But if you live in a cave and haven’t heard of him yet, Reynolds is a singer, songwriter, record producer and frontman of the band Imagine Dragons. At the moment, the group has released four studio albums, has been nominated for numerous awards, won a Grammy, American Music Award and Billboard Music Award, as well as extensively touring and filling up stadiums around the world. And there is no doubt that for him, all the best is yet to come!

One of the most remarkable facts about Reynolds’ life is that he’s actually the seventh of nine children and a 4th generation Nevadan! And this is, by no means, an unimportant fact from his biography!

Gambler Dan BilzerianStudying Business and Criminology, this man turned himself not only into the most skillful but also into one of the funniest poker players, according to the Bluff Magazine. In 2009, he attended the World Series of Poker Main Event but took only 180th place.

He acquired great fame for his eloquent statements and actions; for example, in the case when he, without having evidence, stated that he won $10.8 million from a single night of playing poker, and that once he lost $3.6 million in a single session.

Moe Dalitz

Dalitz is an affluent king of the Las Vegas gambling world, casino owner and executive. He began to build his great empire in Las Vegas in the late 1940s. His big deal started with the Desert Inn Resort. Although Wilbur Clark was the original builder of the resort, one day he faced severe financial issues, and Dalitz took the construction under his control. He was involved in the Desert Inn Resort until 1967. He also expanded his influence after the decease of famous gambling entrepreneur Anthony Cornero by running the Stardust Resort & Casino for a while.

Jimmy Christian Kimmel

Yes, the “biggest badass on TV,” the host of late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! also spent his childhood in Las Vegas. Initially, he was born in Brooklyn, but when he was nine years old, the whole family moved to Las Vegas. He started as a radio jockey in high school, eventually graduating from the University of Nevada. Later, he began his television career, and the rest is history. Today his hit show is one of the longest running late night talk shows, breaking all records of other talk shows, and Jimmy himself is one of the most sought-after TV presenters.

Frank Fertitta III

Fertitta is among the wealthiest American entrepreneurs. He is currently CEO of Station Casinos, which is a gaming company situated in Las Vegas. It staggers belief that Fertitta began his career in a local casino – the Bingo Palace – in 1976. But things were about to change, when in 2006, Frank Fertitta III and his partners made a company private. In March 2008, both Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta were added to the list of billionaires in Forbes’ annual list. Currently, both Frank Fertitta III and his brother own fifteen casinos. His net worth is estimated at approximately $1.3 billion, and his name is forever in the ranks of the most influential and wealthy people in the world. The billionaire now lives in Las Vegas with his wife and three children.
